It sounds almost unbelievable, but for us it is a heavenly music. Klínovec’s trail Illegal is the only European trail in the world’s top ten trails for 2023!

At the end of 2023, the top ten ranking of mountain bike trails were announced by the international Trailforks trail database and its community. In the global competition, our “newest” trail Illegal (formerly known as “Německá” among locals), made it into the TOP 10. This puts Klínovec Trail Park in the company of the world’s most renowned bike parks, which we greatly appreciate and thank everyone who contributed to the ranking.

The number of rides was the deciding factor, along with Trailforks users ratings. Riders appreciated, among other things, the natural character of the trail, its wildness and slightly rebellious style. The characteristics of the trail are perfectly captured in the original article, for example by mentioning: “This track is not for the faint-hearted.” Don’t worry though, in our Trail Park there are in total 30 km of trails of all difficulty levels, and even the most difficult ones are always built and groomed with great attention to safety. Among downhill riders, trail Illegal is often seen as a newer “super enduro” alternative to the Klínovec DH trail.

Same as every year, we said goodbye to the past winter with a heavy heart. This year’s winter season presented us with many challenges, but we took away a lot of new experience and we believe we are still holding the bard of our services high.

But now we are fully focused on the summer season, and we are fully focusing all our energy and effort towards flawless preparation and the following summer services.

OPENING OF THE SEASON AND SUMMER OPERATION

We have started the summer season on 1.5.2024 and the operation hours of the cable car will always be from 9:30 to 18:00. For up-to-date operations, please follow our website here, the daily operations will start as standard from the beginning of the holiday season until the end of September.

As one of the of the leading bike parks not only in the Czech Republic we offer 30 km of trails of all difficulties and another 70 km of marked trails for mountain bikes. NEWS FOR SEASON 2024

This year we have great news for all the enthusiastic bikers! We have become part of the Gravity Card family, which connects 31 leading European bike parks in 7 countries. You can also look forward to interesting new features on the Baron trail, especially in the Cernoles section, where we have built three new wallrides that will improve the riding experience and allow safer riding in sharp turns. We have also resurfaced this section, built up larch bridges and introduced new bumps and reflections.

Of course, when listing the new features, we can’t forget about Downhill trail. This year we have fine-tuned it with our good friends from Germany, who know very well how a quality trail should look like. Erik Irmisch (YT Mob), Johann „Pottie“ Potgieter (YT Mob), Johann Brunner (HDR) and Hannes Lehmann (HDR) helped us to enlarge, widen and extend a few switchbacks and adjust most of the jumps, including their impacts, again with a focus on your experience and safety.

We have also enthusiastically embarked on a new collaboration with the great team from Downtown Tabor, so it is possible  we see each other at one of the Czech Urban Downhill Series race, where you can look forward to the incredibke things that riders presents on challeging trais and obstacles when riding down the city center on a mountain bike.

TO KLÍNOVEC WITH FAMILY

For effortless cycling, marked paths lead you to our four-seated chairlift with orange bubble cover, which will take you back to the top of Klinovec with your bike, scooter, or stroller, including your four-legged pets. At the top, you can test and improve your skills on the skill obstacles and pumptrack, which is also a great starting place for the little ones.

Of course, you can also enjoy a visit to the highest peak of Ore Mountains without a bike. There are many hiking trails in the vicinity of Klinovec, and if you don’t feel like hiking, you can save your strength and take a comfortable ride on our chair lift, from which you can enjoy the magnificent views. The little ones can have fun in our trampoline centre right at the top or in the bouncy castle at the bottom station of the chair lift.

You can also make the visit to the top more pleasant by visiting the restaurant U Stare lanovky with a summer terrace, which is directly connected to the pumptrack and trampoline playground. In addition to the view of the surrounding hills, you can enjoy food and drinks with a direct view at your rollicking children. Right next to the trampolines you can also find a stand with refreshing ice creams and drinks, which will delight every visitor during warm summer days.

MONDRAKER BIKE RENTAL AND SERVICE

You don‘t have your own bike equipment and still you would like to try our trails? No problem! Our rental shop will take care of you and equip you with a bike or scooter, as well as helmet and all the protectors. At our bike rental, there you can find the latest Mondraker bikes and Kickbike and Gravity terrain scooters. If you are interested in renting a bike, we recommend making an online reservation.

A LOOK BACK AT THE START OF THE 2024 SUMMER SEASON

The traditional event of Trail Park Klinovec took place on 4.5.2024, when we celebrated the opening of the summer season together. Everyone could register for the public race in the categories Race, Hobby, Women, Juniors and Children. Adults compared their strength in the Illegal trail sections, while the children and junior races were held on the Baron trail section. There was a great atmosphere throughout the day with music, BBQ, bar and campfire. In the evening, we turned the hill into a real after party with a laser show, where we celebrated the opening of the season as it should be. Apart from racing and cheering, we enjoyed a great accompanying program, when local DJs (DJ Keduel, DJ Baloo and DJ Kazi&Ori) played all day long and knew very well how to take the whole afternoon and evening to upper a level. The Grill bar at the Jägermeister tent was also not to be missed and you could enjoy delicious burgers, skewers and other specialties. In the evening, we sat together by the fire, roasted some sausages and finished the day with an after party with a great laser show.

Anyone could enter the race for the public in the categories Race, Hobby, Women, Juniors, and Children. Adults, and some younger racers also, competed in the sections of trail Illegal, where the Race, Hobby and Women categories took place. The Kids and Juniors categories moved on to their own track in the afternoon, which was made up of sections of the Baron trail.

The Race category was full of real fighters who have a lot of experience with racing, and it was evident in the results. The riders were separated by seconds and the order changed several times during the race. In the end, Hannes Lehmann was the winner of the “royal” category, with local racer Tomáš Cvinger in the second place and Raphael Weissflog in the third place with a minimal difference.

Men in the Hobby category were definitely not left behind. Local talented winner Lukáš Jánský was able to measure his time with competitors from the Race category. Second place went to Marius Pacht and third place in this category goes to Rick Greiner.

Unfortunately, women did not show up in large numbers this year and after one of the competitors withdrew, Andraina Prapan was the only woman to be ranked. She deserved her first place, however, as her time in the overall results list surpassed many competitors from the male categories.

The juniors raced against each other with the smallest differences in the final times and thanks to that it was a big drama until the very end. The fierce battle between the young bikers was finally won by Filip Langer, second place belonged to Radek Sýkora and third position was taken by Ríša Šimo.

The children in their category also did not have their positions for free and the first two places were not separated by even one second. The first place went to Denis Šulc, the second place went to Mikuláš Smilek and the third place to Adam Vlček.
